Spirit has to hold Meteors under 229

DEC VicSpirit needs to restrict ACT Meteors to under 229 to host the WNCL final at the MCG.
After winning the toss and electing to bat, captain Rachael Haynes made use of the good batting conditions, making 85 runs to help steer the Spirit to a competitive total.
Haynes was given good support from Jess Cameron (52) and Sarah Elliott (24), before wicketkeeper Emma Inglis (19) and Briana Binch (16) chipped in with some quick-fire runs to build the total to 8/229 after 50 overs.
Kate Owen took three wickets for the Meteors, while captain Kris Britt picked up two.
The Spirit need to win this match to host the WNCL final at the MCG on January 30, otherwise they'll be playing the NSW Breakers up in Sydney.
